A programme update from ACS International Schools In order to respond to the changing needs of our community, ACS Cobham will be making some changes to its educational provision over the next few years, which will see improved facilities, additional classrooms space and enhancements to the curriculum...
At ACS Cobham, Early Childhood will be combined with Lower School from August 2018, providing a fully integrated early to junior years programme in line with the structure used in other international and British schools.
The age of entry into the newly integrated Lower School will be raised over two years as follows: from August 2018 the year of entry will move to three year olds (Scramblers class) and from 2019 the year of entry will move up to four year olds (Pre-K). All two- and three-year-olds currently enrolled in school will be able to move through the grades into the newly integrated Lower School, in line with the phased changes.
By Summer 2019 Lower School will be fully integrated, offering an educational programme for grades Pre-K to Gr4 and will continue to deliver an inspiring programme to children aged four to nine.
The integration of Pre-K and K classes into Lower School provides an opportunity to integrate the core and specialist subjects such as performing arts, science, music, physical education, art and world languages, whilst still ensuring that the current programme and monitoring the social and physical development of our Pre-K and K-children will be maintained.
As part of the ongoing plans for our school we will also be looking at opportunities to provide other enhancements to both Middle and High Schools that will also benefit the whole ACS community. Further developments will be shared as they are determined.
